On August 16, the first Yangwang U9 customer delivery vehicle officially rolled off the production line. The Yangwang U9, a high-performance electric supercar from BYD, was launched on February 25 this year and is powered by BYD’s cutting-edge Yisifang power system. This remarkable vehicle is priced at approximately $230,000 USD.
Yangwang U9: A BYD Supercar with Lightning Speed and a Bold Design
The Yangwang U9 features BYD’s avant-garde “Time-Space Gate” design language, with headlights inspired by the vastness of outer space. The unique C-shaped design of the lights gives the car a distinctive and highly recognizable appearance. The front of the vehicle is defined by powerful, muscular lines that create a strong visual impact.
In terms of details, the Yangwang U9 comes standard with carbon fiber components, further enhancing its lightweight construction and overall performance. Additionally, the rear of the car offers an optional large carbon fiber fixed spoiler, adding a “GT feel” to the vehicle. The U9’s dimensions are 4966mm in length, 2029mm in width, and 1295mm (1338mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. The car is equipped with 275/35 R21 front and 325/30 R21 rear tires, and customers can choose from various brake caliper colors.
A Powerhouse on Wheels from BYD
Under the hood, the Yangwang U9 is powered by BYD’s Yisifang U-shaped motor, delivering a peak torque of 1680N·m and a maximum speed of 21,000rpm across its four motors. The car boasts over 1300 horsepower, with a top speed of 309.19km/h. It accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.36 seconds, and covers the 0-400 meter sprint in 9.78 seconds. The Yangwang U9 is also equipped with BYD’s advanced Yunnan-X system, with a maximum power output of 36kW and a peak single-axis lifting speed of 500mm/s, capable of instantly generating over a ton of lifting force.
The Yangwang U9 represents the pinnacle of electric vehicle engineering, offering an extraordinary blend of performance, design, and innovation. As the first customer delivery marks a significant milestone for BYD, this supercar is poised to make waves in the electric vehicle market.
