Xiaomi’s Wang Xiaoyan Announces Expansion Plans for Xiaomi Auto Dealerships, Targets Over 200 Stores by March 2025

During a live broadcast from Xiaomi’s Turpan summer testing base on August 17th, Xiaomi Group Vice President Wang Xiaoyan unveiled ambitious expansion plans for Xiaomi’s automotive retail network. He revealed that as of the end of July 2024, more than 100 stores across China are already equipped to sell Xiaomi vehicles, with plans to increase this number to over 200 by March 30, 2025. Additionally, Xiaomi’s first store in Urumqi, Xinjiang, is set to open by the end of this year, further expanding the brand’s presence in the region.

Wang also shared that in July alone, Xiaomi added 16 new dealerships in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Changsha, and Wuxi, while also entering Jinan, Changzhou, and Changchun for the first time. The company plans to add another seven stores in August, including a new location in Nanning. By the end of July, Xiaomi had established a total of 30 delivery centers, 102 sales stores, and 58 service centers across the country.

Xiaomi’s choice of Turpan as its summer testing base was explained by CEO Lei Jun, who highlighted the city’s unique “Three Highs”—high temperature, high humidity, and high altitude. These conditions make Turpan ideal for rigorous testing related to sun exposure, energy consumption management, and durability against extreme heat. Lei also mentioned that, while Turpan offers dry heat, Xiaomi plans to conduct additional tests in Hainan’s humid heat environment, as electronic components are prone to corrosion in coastal areas.
