BYD’s “Pioneer 1” RoRo Ship Embarks on Second European Voyage, Delivering Vehicles to the UK, Netherlands, and Spain

BYD’s “Pioneer 1” roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) ship, built by CIMC Raffles, has launched its second voyage to Europe, delivering vehicles to the UK, Netherlands, and Spain. With a capacity of 7,000 cars, this ship successfully completed its maiden voyage, transporting 1,000 BYD Song PLUS DM-i vehicles to Spain. The vessel’s initial journey was marked by handover and maiden voyage ceremonies at Yantai Port in Shandong and Xiaomo International Logistics Port in Shenwan. Equipped with a dual-fuel propulsion system utilizing Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and conventional fuel, along with a battery system and shaft generator, the ship incorporates various energy-saving technologies, embodying a commitment to green and sustainable transport. This successful operation enhances BYD’s logistics efficiency in global markets and provides the automotive industry with innovative eco-friendly transportation solutions.
